McCarthy Family Maternity Session | Steubenville, OH

I’ve gotten to photograph some truly lovely new parents lately, and gosh it’s fun to see the joy and anticipation and total delight they have in their expanding vocation. I met up with Caroline and Mike at Franciscan University over the weekend, and their sweet baby girl started joyfully moving around as soon as the camera focused on her.

I mean…

Caroline + Mike, there’s so much joy coming your way in August. I know it’s cliche, but I hope you know how fast it’ll go. I hope you remember to soak up these last months with just the two of you. I hope you remember the little flutters as your baby moved and the way your heart soared when you heard her heartbeat for the first time. I hope you remember all the excitement and anticipation of these days before you get to meet your little girl. And when you finally get to hold her in your arms, I hope you remember that babies don’t linger. Time flies in a blur of late night cuddle sessions, epic potty training disasters, and swear words toddlers accidentally pick up. But woven through it all is utterly exhausting joy.

Thanks for asking me to document such a joyful time in your lives, and I’ll be praying for you in these last few months of pregnancy!
