Anne and Colton’s wedding day in Ann Arbor, Michigan was one of those spring days that just felt like grace. The trees were finally in bloom, the sun peeked through just enough to warm the air, joy seemed to weave its way into every moment.
They were married on May 2, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, a space that felt both reverent and full of warmth. From the moment Anne stepped into the aisle, there was a hush—one of those sacred silences where you can feel the weight of something beautiful about to begin. Their wedding Mass was rich with meaning, honoring their faith and the deep love they share.
After the ceremony, we traveled to the Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center for the reception. It was the kind of spring evening where you want to linger outside a little longer than usual, and the grounds of Fox Hills were absolutely glowing. We stepped away for portraits just as the sun began to slip behind the trees, and in those quiet moments, Anne and Colton were completely themselves—laughing, holding each other close, sharing the kind of unspoken connection that speaks louder than words. Their love felt effortless and rooted, and capturing it was an absolute joy.
The entire day was woven together by the people who surrounded them—family and friends who had traveled from near and far to celebrate. During the reception, I found myself chatting with Anne’s dad. We looked around the room at the people laughing, hugging, sharing stories over dinner, and I said, “It’s a testament to who they are, you know? The fact that people came from all over to be here and love on them today.”
He paused, smiled, and looked around too.
“No.” He shook his head and pointed upwards. “It’s a testament to Him. And the way He loves us all.”
And goodness, he was right.
This day was about Anne and Colton, absolutely—but even more than that, it was about the love of God who gathers people together, who makes something holy out of ordinary moments, who fills rooms and hearts to overflowing. It was a joy to be there to document it all.
Anne and Colton, thank you for trusting me with your wedding day. May your marriage be as full of love, joy, and peace as that beautiful May evening.
Cheers, friends.
