“What’s that sound?”

I turned around and Patrick was looking off toward the sun. It was a beautiful evening. The kind of evening with a sunset that invites you to sit and stay awhile. None of us had rain on our radar. I had half a second to register Pat’s question before the rain hit. And it was like Notebook status rain (you know the kind!). We all started racing for our cars, but I just couldn’t run without getting some kind of shot. When the rain is coming down and the sun is shining, well… It creates the kind of bokeh a photographer just cannot pass up.

Kateri and Patrick, this session was a joy for so many reasons. The way you two orient yourselves around each other, the pure excitement as you wait to meet your little boy, and the love woven through it all was such an honor to document. We’re offering up so many prayers for you as you prepare to meet your little man.
